Here at Hamilton Trails we are a family-owned organization that prides itself on our excellent team. We are fortunate to have inherited some amazing people and have added a few as well. To help you get to know these amazing people who make this course the amazing place it is I will be doing a series of introductions focused on each team member.

First up I figured I would share a little about myself.

My name is James Owens and I am the General Manager of Hamilton Trails Golf Club. I was born and raised in NJ and am an avid Philadelphia sports fan, Go Eagles!! After high school I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh where I met my wife Sarah. Sarah and I have two wonderful children Josephine and James (JJ). We are expecting our third child, a boy, in early January.

What is your favorite pastime or hobby?

Golfing, listening to audio books, skiing/snowboarding, home renovations, and most of all playing with my kids.

Favorite part of your job?

Interacting with costumers. Every person has a different story and each one is interesting and unique. I take every chance I can to get out and talk to the amazing people that golf here.

Hardest part of your job?

Most challenging but also rewarding part of my job is managing and prioritizing the many different responsibilities that come with owning a business. A business owner wears many different hats and deciding which one to put on at any given time can be a challenge.

Favorite golf memory or experience?

My first Birdie at Hamilton Trails. Late one afternoon while waiting for the last few golfers to finish up for the day I walked out to the 9th tee with a hybrid, a pitching wedge and a putter. Turned out I didn’t need the wedge, on in one and a short putt for birdie. No one was there to see it but it is a good memory all the same.

Favorite hole at Hamilton Trails?

Hole #5. Back in the woods it is so peaceful that I can honestly sit there for hours. Also the hole itself is challenging but when you land on the green so rewarding.

I hope you enjoy meeting our friendly staff and learning a little more about who they are and what they are interested in.
